House Washing, Gutter Cleaning and Spider Treatment in Point Wells

The Property
The home has dark weatherboards, metal roofing, and covered outdoor areas, with gardens close to the walls. Point Wells sits on Whangateau Harbour, so salt air and damp are part of life here.

House Washing
We soft washed the weatherboards, windows, doors, and eaves. Soft washing means applying a cleaning solution at low pressure, then rinsing. It lifts dirt and salt build-up without forcing water behind the boards.
Painted weatherboard is the reason we avoid high pressure. It can lift paint and push water behind the boards, where you can’t see it. If you hire someone for this, ask what method they use on painted cladding.
Gutter Cleaning
We found leaves and moss in the gutters, and cleared the gutters and roof-edge areas. Leaves and moss hold water and restrict flow, so water spills over the edge in heavy rain. On a weatherboard home, that overflow runs down the walls, leaves streaks, and keeps the boards damp.
Spider and Bug Treatment
We treated the eaves, window frames, and door frames for spiders and bugs. Webs gather in sheltered spots like these, where insects collect.
